The New Launched Naza Citra II Rondo

Dealer of NAZA KIA, Albertlim Auto World Sdn Bhd, launched the Naza Citra II Rondo, the cross-over utility vehicle (CUV) adapted from the new Kia Carens to help it capture 20 per cent share of the multi-purpose-vehicle (MPV) market. The Rondo EX is priced at RM87k, while the higher spec EXS is priced at RM91K. Fuel-economy average of 33.6 mpg meaning it can go up to 11.9 km/litre of fuel consumption. Rondo’s cargo capacity and passenger carrying versatility are its high points. Power was underwhelming in the 4-cylinder version, however, and the lack of all-wheel-drive makes it difficult to compare Rondo with other SUVs. Top Speed of Naza kia rondo is 181 km/hour.The Rondo comes with air-conditioner vents for rear passengers, dual-front airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, a 2.0-litre twin camshaft engine with variable valve timing technology and a four-speed automatic transmission.However, the EXS gets additional features such as steering wheel-mounted remote audio control, a special roof rack, automatic climate control air conditioning system and bigger 16-inch alloy wheels. The Rondo is built on the Optima platform, and shares the same engine, transmission and chassis components. The 4-cylinder engine delivers 145 horsepower and 189 Nm of torque. Mated to the engine is a 4-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with ‘Spotmatic’ manual shift option. Drive is to the front wheels. The Rondo has an overall shape that follows the Citra, in a traditional two-box design. The front grille and headlights are a new design, taking some design cues from the Optima. The Rondo stands a little taller than the Optima, obviously designed to provide a higher seating position, following its ‘crossover’ objectives. Four-wheel independent suspension made up of McPherson struts in the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear, is one of the Rondo’s strong points, bringing a promise of decent handling and a comfortable ride. Dual airbags, ABS, EBD, and impact-sensing door unlock system are amongst its many safety features. The Rondo has a NHTSA NCAP 5-star crash safety rating. Inside, there are three rows of seats for up to seven occupants. The rearmost seats are a little short on legroom, but it would suffice when you have to carry that many people. With a little bit of juggling by sliding the middle row a little forward, you can come up with a compromise. Otherwise, the Rondo in 5-seat mode is excellent. The rear two rows split and fold to provide great versatility for stowage of long or bulky items.
